How to Verify Stake Limbo Results
Step 1: Get your seed data from Stake
To verify a Limbo bet, you need three pieces of data:
- Server Seed (Unhashed): Go to Settings → Fairness on Stake. Click "Unhash" next to your active server seed to reveal it.
- Client Seed: Found in the same Fairness settings page. You can use Stake's default or set your own.
- Nonce: Each bet has a unique nonce. Find it in your bet history by clicking on the bet.
Note: You can only verify bets made before you unhash the server seed.
Step 2: Enter your data in the form above

- Enter your Client Seed exactly as shown on Stake
- Enter the Server Seed (Unhashed) - this is the revealed seed, not the hash
- Enter the Nonce for the specific bet you want to verify
The verifier calculates the multiplier using Stake's exact HMAC-SHA256 algorithm.
Step 3: Compare the result with your bet
After clicking Verify, you'll see the calculated Limbo result:
- The verifier displays the exact multiplier generated for that bet
- Compare this with your actual bet outcome in your Stake history
- If the multiplier met or beat your target, you won; if it fell short, you lost
- The numbers should match exactly

How does Stake Limbo work and what makes it different from Crash?
Limbo is an instant single-player game where you set a target multiplier and win if the result meets or beats it. Unlike Crash (which is multiplayer and takes time), Limbo results are instant. The game has a 99% RTP (1% house edge). Stake lets you set a target from 1.01x to 1,000,000x. The result itself runs from 1.00x up to 16,609,443.84x, the formula's value when the 24-bit integer is 0. Higher target multipliers have lower probabilities but bigger payouts.
Does this verifier work for both Stake.com and Stake.us?
Yes! Both Stake.com (international) and Stake.us (US sweepstakes) use identical provably fair algorithms for Limbo. This verifier works for both platforms - just enter your seeds and nonce from either site.
How is the Limbo multiplier calculated?
The HMAC-SHA256 algorithm generates a hash from your seeds and nonce. The first 3 bytes (24 bits) are converted to an integer between 0 and 16,777,215. This number is then plugged into the formula: 16777216 / (n + 1) × 0.99 to produce the multiplier, which Stake shows rounded down to 2 decimals and never below 1.00x. Stake's own provably-fair calculator computes the multiplier as 2²⁴ / (n + 1) × (1 − 0.01). Real Stake Limbo results match this 24-bit formula; the formula text on Stake's own provably-fair Game Events page, which uses a 4-byte float, differs. The 0.99 factor represents the 1% house edge.
Why doesn't my verification result match?
Common reasons for mismatched results:
- Using hashed server seed: You need the unhashed (revealed) server seed, not the hashed version.
- Wrong nonce: Each bet has a unique nonce - verify you're using the exact nonce for that bet.
- Seed pair mismatch: The seeds must be the pair that was active when the bet was placed.
